1. Primitive Star Shower Curtain with Kettle Grove Stencil Star Oval Braided Rug

 

Primitive Star is our signature shower curtain. This is a custom pattern we designed a few years ago and it has risen to be our number one selling primitive shower curtain. It features the primitive star pattern and patchwork blocks along the top and bottom borders in creme, black and grey plaids and vintage prints.

The fabrics are all the same ones used in our Kettle Grove collection. We have two curtain options that coordinate perfectly. You can either choose our striped black and tan Primitive Star curtains or the black plaid of the Kettle Grove curtain collection.

Some of the pieces we chose to use in this bathroom scene include 5” black barn stars sitting on the top of a reclaimed wood tray. Yes, that’s right, it’s actually a tray! I had a shelf in this bathroom that had been missing a peg for years.

When I got ready to film these shower curtains, I realized it was a perfect time to update the wall! Down came the shelf and up went the wood tray!

We wanted to use the same screws that were already on the wall so we measured down and carefully planned where we added the sawtooth hangers on the back. I really like the primitive style it brings to my bathroom. I show it here with a sampler and small timer taper candle setting inside on ledge.

Since the shower curtain features black, we also added a black wood signs on the wall. This one says Faith, Family, Friends and has some stars on it as well. The black star shower curtain hooks help to accent the black as well.

The 20x30” Kettle Grove stencil star oval braided rug is a great way to tie the room together.

We typically recommend that you put some sort of rug pad down to prevent any of the dyes from the jute rug from staining your flooring. I have never had a customer mention the rugs staining their floors, but we do suggest you take that precaution.

2. Heritage Farms and the Pip and Star Oval Braided Rug

We just love the embellishments on our Heritage Farms collection! Pip berries and vines are embroidered along the sides and bottom of the shower curtain with applique primitive stars nestled among the berries.

The patchwork blocks are made from various size checks and plaids. It uses the popular primitive colors of burgundy, black and tan. The center block has a large black and tan gingham check crow with primitive stars in each corner.

This bathroom scene shows our iron triple taper candle holder and three 6” mustard timer taper candles with burgundy pip candle rings set inside a reclaimed wood tray. On the top ledge we set one of our “Be Humble” samplers and our metal flower holder.

My husband and I love antiques and our grey granite wash basin has been a favorite in our bathroom over the years. 

On the wall, right next to the shower, we are using one of our reclaimed 3 hook wall racks. These reclaimed wood décor accents are so unique.

The wood grains, wood coloring, thickness and length is all determined by the exact piece of wood chosen to make each piece. No two are alike and we just love that!

The Heritage Farms pip and star oval rug on the floor matches the primitive shower curtain perfectly with its pip and star stenciled pattern. We used a 20x30” size for this space.

When it comes to primitive country decorating, we think there are many homes that could be enhanced by using our Heritage Farms shower curtain in the bathroom. The primitive check curtains coordinate as well. They used one of the checks in the shower curtain and quilt and made it larger scale for the curtains.

 3. Maisie Patch Shower Curtain with Farmhouse Star Rectangle Braided Rug

 

Maisie Patch is another one of our custom collections and we have designed a matching quilt set too. The pattern features large 9” patchwork blocks.

We just love the way this pattern combines so many fabric favorites. It coordinates with Kettle Grove black plaid, Burgundy Check and Black Check and of course the Maisie collection. So, when it comes to curtains you have lots of great options.

We chose to use the Farmhouse Star rectangle braided rug. The black and tan are a nice compliment to go with the Maisie Patch pattern.

There are lots of ways to add a few finishing décor touches to your bathroom. A few suggestions include using our wire storage basket on the back of the toilet for a spare towel and toilet paper roll and adding our star toilet tissue holder on the wall.

I used to have a free standing, taller toilet paper holder sitting right by the stool. I was surprised at how much I appreciated the extra floor space once I stopped using that floor one and started using the star wall mounted one.

 

4. Sawyer Mill Stenciled Patchwork with our Sawyer Mill Poultry Oval Braided Rug

 

This Sawyer Mill patchwork shower curtain combines lots of neutral grey and brown fabrics with farm animals and windmills for a winning combination. If you live on a farm, grew up on a farm or just love pigs, chicken and cows, this primitive shower curtain has definitely been designed with you in mind!

The Sawyer Mill charcoal collection is one of the most extensive collections we carry. You can find several styles of matching bedding, lots of curtain options, kitchen towels, and more pillows than you probably have room for. Of course, it has coordinating braided rugs, and tabletop items as well.

We chose to use the poultry oval braided rug for this room scene since that was one of my favorites.

For wall decor accents, we hung the 3 hook reclaimed wood wall rack and the coordinating wall tray. We used ivory timer candles with gold pip candle rings to add a little pop of color along with our burgundy and gold pip berry wreath.

On the back of the toilet we showcase one of our ivory wood flower boxes with three of our quart mason jars. I like to keep these jars filled and handy with items like bandaids, triple antibiotic ointment, cotton balls and q-tips. It's a decorative way to keep things where anyone can easily get to them.

Our mason jar soap dispenser coordinates nicely too.

 

 

5. Beckham Shower Curtain and Heritage Farms Oval Braided Rug

 

The Beckham shower curtain combines horizontal fabric strips in burgundy, black and creme. I love the variety of using large plaid patterns and smaller plaids. The way they have placed the fabrics next to each other really helps to bring focus on all three main colors.

Our black star shower curtain hooks really pop along the top as it hangs on the rod. 

This bathroom features bead board painted burgundy and a lighter creamy khaki color on the top half of the room. Our wire storage basket with a rolled up black towel is a nice contrast to the burgundy wall and brings out the black in this primitive shower curtain.

We also love featuring our iron star toilet tissue holder. The center rod lifts off the holder very easily and makes adding a new roll a quick job. 

The pip berry wreath brings rustic charm to the cream wall space beside a primitive sampler that features the Lord's prayer. The Beckham primitive shower curtain ties the whole bathroom together so beautifully!

6. Stratton Shower Curtain and Stratton Oval Braided Rug

 
Our popular Stratton shower curtain combines a unique combination of colors, featuring green, salmon, burgundy and khaki in the main plaid. Along the bottom edge the burlap border has applique stars in various color plaids and prints. 

As bathroom accents, we used lots of burgundy. On the wall, we have a blessed and grateful wood sign. For the shower curtain hooks we used our burgundy star ones.

On the back of the toilet, we filled our red wood flower box with three quart mason jars. We also added one of our twig wreaths and a primitive sampler on the wall behind the stool. If you look closely, you can also see our mason jar soap dispenser.

This decorative dispenser has been a customer favorite for many years! I just love to add mason jar items to my primitive country decorating. I have several of the antique blue ball jars and enjoy placing them throughout my home.

 

7. Kettle Grove Shower Curtain and Kettle Grove Rectangle Braided Rug

 

The black and creme fabrics in the Kettle Grove pattern are classic primitive country patchwork. The combination of plaids, stripes and vintage prints are timeless and tested and have been one of my favorites for over a decade.

This was the very first VHC Brands primitive shower curtain I ever owned. It's kind of a funny story actually. I guess you could say my bathroom needed an update and I didn't even know it. It all started with a call from my sister telling me it was time to replace my old shower curtain.

We also show off several other products that look great with the Kettle Grove patchwork shower curtain!

Inside the wood tray on the wall is our iron triple candle holder with ivory timer taper candles. These candles turn on at the time you put the battery in and close the bottom. They stay on for 6 hours and then turn off automatically.

The next day they will turn on at the same time and stay on for 6 hours. If you decide you want your candle to turn on at a different time, you simply unscrew the bottom a little and "restart" the timer. You can do that as often as you need to so they are on whenever you would like for them to be. 

On the back of the toilet we have used one of our black wood flower boxes filled with three quart mason jars. The three hook reclaimed wood wall rack adds a rustic primitive look and works great for extra towels. 

The floor in front of the shower has one of our Kettle Grove braided rugs to complete the color scheme throughout and add warmth to the room.

8. Mill Stripe Shower Curtain and Sawyer Mill Rectangle Braided Rug

The Mill Stripe shower curtain is one of our custom VHC Brands collections. It is sold exclusively here at the quilt shop and is fashioned after the fabrics from our Sawyer Mill Charcoal collection. That means it matched perfectly with any of their braided items, pillows, bedding and curtains.

In this room scene, we used a 4" timer candle in a reclaimed wood tray that we hung on the wall.

9. Autumn Frost Colonial Style Primitive Shower Curtain 

Primitive country bathrooms can always use some colonial style woven shower curtains!

I just love our woven shower curtains. We have several different patterns of these reproduction textiles that have been woven on a loom. They have an antique look and can bring a feeling of nostalgia to your home decor. 

Each pattern we carry is unique. This Autumn Frost pattern features navy and tan yarns. 

This primitive shower curtain is made from a soft loose weave cotton. It feels great and hangs very nicely!

We hung this one with our punched star shower curtain hooks. It coordinates well with navy bathroom towels. You can see we feature a three hook wall rack made from reclaimed wood. No two are exactly alike. 

Also included in the bathroom shown is our black wood flower box with quart mason jars. These flower boxes are a great option for the back of the toilet. They fit very well and can be a great storage solution too.

I love using mason jars to store things. They add beauty while being very practical. 

Our son and daughter in law visited some friends last weekend. She said their host had stocked glass jars with sweet treats and put them in their guest bath upon their arrival.

10. Cheston Shower Curtain and Cider Mill Rectangle Braided Rug

Cheston was the very first exclusive custom collection we designed. When VHC Brands first contacted us about creating our own custom products, Cheston came to my mind right away.

It was a pattern that VHC had retired several years earlier and it had been one of my favorites. We have quilts, pillows, shams, bed skirts, curtains and of course this awesome patchwork shower curtain. 

The burgundy and tea stained creme fabrics make a beautiful statement for any bathroom. The fabric blocks are made from plaids, checks, stripes and vintage prints. 

We like the way our Cider Mill braided line coordinates with the Cheston collection and used a rectangle rug in this bathroom setting. The back of the toilet features our ivory wood flower box and quart mason jars filled with bathroom necessities.

As an option for storing towels, we used our wire basket on the floor next to our star toilet tissue holder. The burgundy and gold pip berry wreath adds a rustic touch and a nice contrast against the wall.
